Do I need to speak Arabic to start?

Both. We teach children and adults, and the tutor adapts the style and pace of every lesson to the student.

How do you keep children safe?

Lessons are never recorded, and all communication goes through our team and the parent: tutors never message children directly. You don't need to sit in, but you're always welcome to. Read our Child safety page for the details.

Can I choose a male or female tutor?

Yes. We have both male and female tutors, and you can tell us your preference when you book.

What do I need for online classes?

A laptop, tablet or phone with a stable internet connection, a microphone and a camera. The camera is essential, so your tutor can see and correct how you pronounce each letter. Classes are held live on Zoom, and you get a Google Calendar invite with the link for every lesson.

How will I know if I'm making progress?

After every lesson your tutor sends a short report: what you covered, what went well and what to practise. Every three months you also get a full progress review with clear goals for the next stage. Parents receive these for their children.

How do you handle different time zones?

Are your tutors qualified?

Yes. Our Quran tutors hold an Ijazah in Quran recitation with a connected chain of narration, and they are native Arabic speakers.

Yes. Your trial class is completely free, with no commitment and no payment details needed. You meet your tutor, check your level and decide if it's right for you.

How does the family discount work?

When two or more members of the same family enroll, everyone gets 10% off their monthly plan. Each member has their own lessons and can be in a different course.

How do I pay?

You pay securely through PayPal when your class schedule is confirmed, and again each time you've used up your lessons. You can pay with a PayPal account or with a debit or credit card through PayPal.

Can I change my plan later?

Of course. You can move up or down between plans, or change your lesson length, at any time.

Does the price depend on the course?

No. Every course, from Noorani Qaida to the Ten Qira'at, has the same simple rate.

What if I can't make a lesson?

Tell us at least 6 hours before it starts and we'll arrange a make-up lesson at a time that suits you. Lessons cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, count as taken. If your tutor ever has to cancel, you always get a make-up lesson.

Do you have a referral programme?

Yes. Get your personal link on our Refer a friend page and share it. When your friend enrolls in a monthly plan, you get two free extra lessons and your friend gets one. Each free lesson is the same length as the lessons in that person's plan.

Can I get a refund?

Monthly plans aren't refundable. Instead, any lessons you couldn't take after rescheduling in time move to the following month, so you never lose what you paid for.

How long does it take to finish the Qaida?

Most students finish in 3 to 6 months with two lessons a week. Children and adults move at different speeds, and your tutor adjusts the pace for you.

Should I choose Noorani Qaida or Noor Al-Bayan?

Both lead to the same goal. Your tutor will recommend one in your free trial class based on your age and level.

Do I need to finish the Qaida first?

You need to be able to read Arabic letters with vowels. If you're not sure, your tutor will check in the free trial class.

Will I learn the theory or just practice?

Both. You learn the name and explanation of each rule, then apply it while reciting with live correction.

How long does it take to memorize the whole Quran?

It depends on your time and ability. With daily practice, many students finish in 2 to 4 years. We build the plan around your real schedule.

Yes. We start with a revision plan to bring back what you memorized before adding anything new.

Do I need to memorize the whole Quran?

Not necessarily. You can earn an Ijazah by reading from the Mushaf (nazran) or from memory (ghaiban). Your teacher will explain the options.

Which narration is the Ijazah in?

Most students start with Hafs from 'Asim. Ijazahs in other narrations are available too, and lead naturally into the Ten Qira'at.

What do I need before starting the Qira'at?

Excellent Tajweed in the narration of Hafs, and ideally a good portion of the Quran memorized. The scholar will assess you first.

Can I study just one narration, like Warsh?

Yes. Many students start with a single narration and continue from there.

Is Fusha understood everywhere in the Arab world?

Yes. It's the shared formal language of all Arab countries. For everyday street conversation, you can add a dialect later.
